Economic benefits of satellite positioning more than $6 billion

The Minister for Resources and Northern Australia Matt Canavan this week released an independent economic benefits analysis by EY into the trial of a Satellite-Based Augmentation System (SBAS) for Australia and New Zealand.

The trial of world-first satellite positioning technology was led by Geoscience Australia in partnership with Land Information New Zealand with FrontierSI managing industry projects.

The 18–month trial across 27 projects in 10 industries showed the economic benefits could top $6 billion in Australia over the next 30 years.
