New airborne electromagnetic (AEM) survey data released
19 March 2019
The Minister for Resources and Northern Australia Matt Canavan today announced the second data release for the world’s largest airborne electromagnetic survey.
Geoscience Australia, as part of the Federal Government’s Exploring for the Future program, undertook the airborne electromagnetic (AEM) survey in partnership with the Northern Territory and Queensland geological surveys to map potential mineral resources.
This survey has revealed potential new mineral and groundwater resources between Tennant Creek and Mount Isa that have not been extensively explored.
