Collaboration between Australia and the United States on critical minerals is now even stronger through the signing of a project agreement today.

Geoscience Australia and the United States Geological Survey signed the project agreement to improve each nation’s understanding and supply of critical minerals.

The new agreement focuses on joint critical mineral potential mapping and quantitative mineral assessments; determining geological controls on critical mineral distribution; and developing data analytics capability to understand supply and demand scenarios for developing the critical minerals pipeline.

Minister for Resources and Northern Australia Matt Canavan witnessed the signing in the United States and said it was the beginning of a strong new partnership which would benefit both nations.
